An almanac of money, rooted in Scripture.
Free · No ads, affiliates, or referral fees · 70 lessons · 16 Bible themes · 33 interactive tools
Money is managed for its true Owner, and it is multiplied by serving people well. Everything here follows from that one sentence.
Asked first
Our editors’ twelve: the questions this site was written to answer first. A curated list, not a count of what people ask. Each answer is short, then fans out to the lesson, the theme, and the tool. All questions →
- Is tithing required today?
Ten percent under the Law; proportion, forethought, and cheerfulness in the letters. What carries over, and what does not.
- Is debt a sin?
Scripture is blunt about what borrowing does to a person without, on most readings, calling the borrowing itself sin.
- Is money the root of all evil?
The famous line indicts the love of it, and says "a root" of "all kinds". The misquote does real damage.
- Is gambling or the lottery wrong?
No verse names the lottery; several name what it runs on: appetite, chance, and a neighbour who has to lose.
- Should Christians invest?
In the parable of the talents, the servant who buries the money is the one who is rebuked.
- What about crypto?
How to weigh a new and volatile asset: speculation, honest weights, and the difference between owning and betting.
- How much should I give?
Where the ten percent came from, and what decides the number when ten is impossible, or far too little.
- Is it wrong to be rich?
Abraham, Job, and Lydia are in the book; so are the camel, the needle, and the rich fool. Both sets have to be read.
- Does saving mean I do not trust God?
The ant stores, Joseph stores, and the rich fool stores. The difference is not the storing.
- How do I teach my kids about money?
Allowance or pay, jars or accounts, and the first real job: what to hand over, and at what age.
- Is bankruptcy allowed?
Repaying what you owe is a moral duty; release from unpayable debt is also written into the Law. Where those meet.
- What is wrong with the prosperity gospel?
Giving is not a deposit that obliges God to pay out. The distortion, named plainly, with the verses it leans on.

Start where you are
Five tracks, one per stage of life. Each is an ordered reading list, not a pile of links.
| Track | Ages | Begin with |
|---|---|---|
| Seedlings | 5-10 | The jars game: earn, give, save, spend, together |
| Builders | 11-17 | First jobs, first accounts, and decades of compounding ahead |
| Founders | 18-25 | First budget, first debts, first investments, in the right order |
| Stewards | 26-60 | The full spine: budget → debt → invest → provide → give |
| Elders | 60+ | Drawing down, protecting, and legacy: what it was all for |
The whole almanac
Below the popular front door is the reference work itself: money taught the way a good almanac would teach it: plainly, in order, with every number sourced and every verse kept in its context. Budgeting, debt, saving, investing, work, business, and giving, from a child’s first coins to a retiree’s estate.
The Steward’s Path
Eight steps, in order. Every lesson on the site hangs on one of them. Read the full Path →
The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.Psalm 24:1
KJV. The starting point of the whole site: stewardship, not ownership.
- 1. Acknowledge the Owner
It is all God’s; you are the manager. Start by seeing what you have.
- 2. Work & serve
Income follows serving people well. Diligence is discipleship.
- 3. Give first
Firstfruits, not leftovers. Generosity is line one, not the remainder.
- 4. Live on less
Contentment creates margin; margin is where every plan begins.
- 5. Owe no one
Escape debt and refuse to be surety for what you cannot cover.
- 6. Multiply faithfully
Patient, diversified growth: the servant’s road, not the gambler’s.
- 7. Provide & protect
Insure, plan, and put your household in order.
- 8. Overflow
As God increases you, increase what flows through you.
