Updated 2026-10-28 · Concept: proportional giving, including a percentage that rises
Giving feels small in any single month: a slice of one paycheck. This tool shows the other view, the one a working lifetime sees. Set an income and a percentage decided in advance, and watch two lines grow together: what you gave, and what you lived on. The question it asks is not "can I afford this month's gift?" but "what do I want the whole story to add up to?"
Predict first
Someone earns $50,000 at 25, gets ordinary 3% raises, and gives 10% for 40 years. What does their giving total by 65?
Pick an estimate, or skip to your own numbers.
The model is deliberately simple: income grows at the raise rate; the gift is the chosen percentage each year, and "raise it each year" adds that many points after every year until the cap (it does nothing at 0 points). It ignores taxes, gaps, and windfalls; your real story will differ. What it shows honestly is proportion: the shape of a life that decides its giving in advance, including the decision to let the percentage rise.
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.Proverbs 3:9
