The notes are editorial: they say what the passage contributes in its own context, and where a verse is routinely turned against that context, the warning sits with it. 1 Chronicles 29:11-14 (WEB)
11Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all. 12Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all! 13Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name. 14But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.1 Chronicles 29:11-14 · World English Bible, public domain
